Itinerario

Around 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. the guide will pick up all the passengers who undertake the experience towards the Lost City from the hotels or hostels, then they will be transferred to the office to start the adventure in 4X4 cars from this point. air-conditioned to the town of Mamey or also known as Machete Pelao, after 3 hours of travel you reach the town to start walking 7.6 km to camp 1, crossing ravines with preserved forests and pastures. During this walk we will find a viewpoint where the landscape and the mountains full of their exuberant vegetation will steal all your attention and admiration.

Our new day brings us another adventure where, after having breakfast, the journey begins from the first camp called “Adan or Alfredo” to the second camp “Cabaña Wiwa” where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in the Buritaca River while we wait. to lunch. After a short rest our adventure continues entering the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta until we reach the third camp “Paraiso Teyuna” which is located at a height of 800 meters above sea level and where we will spend the night our second day; But first, an indigenous town of the Kogui community called “Muthanyi” descendants of our ancient Tayronas and protectors of the Sierra, also known as our older brothers, will be bordered.
Camp Facilities: Electricity is powered by generator and only runs from 6 pm-9pm. Showers and bathrooms.
Very early we have breakfast, we will travel 2 km to start the ascent to our longed for Lost City climbing 1,200 steps that lead us to this majestic stone city composed of interconnected roads, retaining walls, terraces with rings where the houses of the ancient Tayronas rested. . All of it is surrounded by a magical jungle of fauna and flora that gives us different views and landscapes from the sunniest days to the cloud forest. Here we can also meet the leader and protector of mother nature and the ancient Tayrona empire. After our tour we will descend to our third camp “Paraiso Teyuna” to have lunch and then return to the second camp “Cabaña Wiwa” where we will spend the night.
Our adventure in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is about to end. After having breakfast, you will go on a walk of approximately 2 hours to Camp Adam or Alfredo where you slept the first night. Once at the first campsite you will take a quick fruit and water break and continue for another 4 hours all the way back to El Mamey where you will have lunch and board a 4×4 truck that will bring you back to Santa Marta.
